Noreen Kinohi, Envision Dance Company Director
Noreen has been dancing for almost as long as could walk at the young age of 3. She trained at Sherri's Born to Dance Studio for 13 years in the styles of ballet, jazz, musical production and her favorite tap. Her performance experience includes years of dance competitions all over the nation. For the past 5 years she has instructed hundreds of students of the Adventures and Movement program of Santa Clara Vanguard and presently is the Company Director of the Envision Dance Company.
Brian Mirador, 706iick Street Director
Brian was introduced to the competitive street dance scene as a member of Team Millennia in 2002 in Fullerton, CA. He trained in a variety of styles such as house, b-boying, locking, popping, and jazz. Brian was a co-coordinator for Kaba Modern in 2006, a mentor for KM's junior team, Kreative Movement and also founded Floorteenth Street in San Deigo. He competed in major hip-hop dance competitions such as Fusion, Bust-A-Groove, Body Rock, Hip-Hop International and World Dance San Diego. He currently resides back in the Bay Area, where he is directing the junior hip hop dance group, 706iick Street.
Desiree Dela Pena, Founder and Artistic Director
Desiree has a Bachelors of Arts in dance from San Francisco State University. She has been involved in children and youth performing arts for the past 11 years as the music, dance and drama teacher at Merryhill Academy and as the Community Programs Director for Santa Clara Vanguard, a non-profit performing arts organization, where she founded Inspired to Move: a teen/adult dance program and Vanguard Jr. Company, a youth performance company. Her ultimate goal for students is to empower, enrich and inspire growing artists that will instill a love for themselves, as well as the performing arts.
